Connect a Gmail Account

Gmail API gives you full two-way sync. SMTP is a lightweight alternative. Both are quick to set up.

Full integration with sending, receiving, reply tracking, and thread management.

Step by step

  1. Navigate to OneBox > Account in the sidebar
  2. Click Connect Gmail Account
  3. Google’s OAuth screen opens — sign in with the Gmail account you want to use
  4. Review the permissions and click Allow:
    • Read and send email
    • Manage email labels
    • View email metadata
  5. You’re redirected back to WorkOnward Reach with your mailbox connected

Minimal permissions. WorkOnward Reach requests only what’s needed for outreach. We never access contacts, calendar, or Drive.

What you get with Gmail API

  • Two-way email sync
  • Automatic reply detection and threading
  • Push notifications for new messages
  • Real-time status updates

Option 2: Gmail SMTP (alternative)

Send-only connection using Gmail’s SMTP server. Use this if you prefer not to grant API access.

Step by step

  1. Navigate to OneBox > Account
  2. Click Add Delivery Account
  3. Select Gmail SMTP as the transport
  4. Enter your Gmail address
  5. Enter an app-specific password (not your regular password)
  6. Click Test Connection to verify
  7. Save
⚠️

SMTP is send-only. You won’t get reply tracking, thread sync, or inbox management. For full functionality, use Gmail API.

Connecting multiple accounts

You can connect as many Gmail accounts as you need. Multiple mailboxes enable:

  • Mailbox rotation — Distribute campaign sends across accounts
  • Separate personas — Use different accounts for different campaign types
  • Higher daily volume — Each account has its own sending limits

What happens next

Verify your connection is healthy and set your default mailbox.
