Manage Your Templates

Build a library of proven templates you can reuse and iterate on. Keep your templates organized so your team always has the right email for every situation.

Template library

Navigate to Outreach > Templates to see all your templates. The library shows:

  • Template name — Your descriptive label
  • Subject line — The email subject
  • Category — Organization category
  • Usage count — How many times this template has been used in sequences/campaigns
  • Last modified — When it was last updated

Search and filter

  • Search by name — Type in the search bar to find templates quickly
  • Filter by category — Show only templates in a specific category

Duplicate a template

Create a copy of any template to iterate without modifying the original:

  1. Click the more options menu on a template
  2. Select Duplicate
  3. The copy is created with “(copy)” appended to the name
  4. Edit the duplicate as needed

This is useful when you want to create variations of a proven template — different tones, different CTAs, or different audiences.

Delete templates

Single delete

  1. Click the more options menu on a template
  2. Select Delete
  3. Confirm the deletion

Bulk delete

  1. Select multiple templates using checkboxes
  2. Click Delete Selected
  3. Confirm
⚠️

Deleting a template is permanent. Templates used in active campaigns or sequences will still send their existing content, but you won’t be able to edit or reuse the deleted template.

Categories

Use categories to keep your library organized:

CategoryUse for
OutreachCold outreach and initial contact
Follow-upFollow-up emails in sequences
NurtureLong-term relationship building
Re-engagementWin back cold or unresponsive contacts
EventEvent invitations and follow-ups

Tips

  • Archive, don’t delete — If you might need a template again, duplicate it before deleting
  • Name by campaign type — “Cold intro - tech founders” is more useful than “Email template 3”
  • Track usage — High-usage templates are your best performers. Study what makes them work.
  • Iterate on winners — Duplicate your best-performing templates and test small variations
